 Enriched Air Nitrox Diver

By diving with enriched air rather than standard air you can extendPadi enriched air diver your no-decompression limits. This means more time underwater. For example, if you dive to 50 feet on air, your no decompression limit is 80 minutes. But, diving on EANx36 gets you 220 minutes of no decompression time - an increase of 140 minutes.

Course Summary

The Enriched Air Diver Specialty certification emphasizes the theoretical and operational considerations involved with enriched air diving. You'll cover all the features & benefits that Enriched Air diving brings.

Prerequisites

  • A current Open Water Student  or Certified Diver

  • Minimum age: 15 yearsPADI eLearning

Timeframe: 1 Classroom session (~3-1/2 hours)

Training Fee: $85. Includes C-Card.

Dry Suit Diver

If you want to see the spectacular and prolific aquatic life often found in colder water climates you'll need to stayPaddi Drysuit diver warm and that means a dry suit. But, you want to be trained in proper techniques and this is where the Dry Suit Specialty course comes in. You'll also need this certification to rent a drysuit!

Prerequisites

  • PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification
  • Minimum age: 12 years old
  • Dry Suit Manual

Course Summary

During your Dry Suit Diver course, you'll not only cover the background knowledge related to dry suit diving, you'll get into confined water to put that theory into practice. Then, once you've mastered confined water, it's time for two open water dives and applying that knowledge, including dive planning, organization, techniques, problems and buoyancy control.

Timeframe: 2 class/ pool sessions + 2 dives in 1 day

Training Fee? $125 Includes C-Card. May be less when combined with the Advanced Course.

Dive Computer Course

Many divers have yet to convert from the tables to diveDive computer course computers! Others have yet to understand just what the computer is actually indicating & how it differs from the tables! You'll learn why and how the dive computer has changed the way we think about "No Decompression calculation forever!

Prerequisites

  • PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification
  • Minimum age: 12 years old

Course Summary

This course is designed to instruct users on how to utilize the important information held in the computer, how to access the different modes and what the display really means. You'll walk away with a wealth of information that will make your computer dives safer, with a greater appreciation for what it can do for you! You'll also discuss the dive theory & model that was used to calculate your diving.

Timeframe: 1 Class Session

Padi search & recoverySearch & Recovery Diver

Have you ever dropped something in the water? Are you looking for lost treasure? The Search and Recovery Specialty course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface.

Prerequisites

  • Advanced Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification OR PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver AND Underwater Navigation certifications
  • Minimum age: 12 years old

Course Summary

You'll learn search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also cover limited visibility, search patterns and safe object recovery using lift devices.

Timeframe: 1 Class Session + 4 dives over two days

Training Fee: $125 Includes C-Card.

Next Step?

Your Adventures In Diving Search and Recovery Adventure Dive may count toward this Specialty certification at instructor discretion. This specialty can also be used as one of five Specialty certifications required for your Master Scuba Diver certification.

Night Diver

When you go night divingPadi Night Diver you'll see a whole new world. Even your local dive site takes on a new personality at night, as many underwater creatures and plant life (different from those you see during the day) are active at night.

Prerequisites

  • Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification
  • Minimum age: 12 years old

Course Summary

You'll learn night dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also learn how to control your buoyancy, navigate and communicate at night. Since many of the plants and animals you'll see are different, you'll also get an introduction to nocturnal aquatic life.

Timeframe: 3 Night Dives over 2 or 3 sessions Padi night diver

Training Fee: $120 - Includes C-Card. Fees are less when combined with the Advanced Course.

Padi altitude diverAltitude Diver

Any time you're diving from 1,000 to 10,000 feet above sea level, you're altitude diving. If you want to explore the hidden world of a mountain lake, the Altitude Diver Specialty course is for you.

Prerequisites

  • PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification
  • Minimum age: 12 years old

Course Summary

The Altitude Diver Specialty course familiarizes you with the rules and procedures necessary to use the Recreational Dive Planner at altitude. This includes:

  • Altitude dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards
  • Special Recreational Dive Planner procedures for diving at altitude
  • Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures
  • Special equipment necessary for altitude diving

Timeframe: 1 Class session + 2 dives over one day

Training Fee: $155 Includes C-Card

Padi underwater naturalistUnderwater Naturalist

If you're interested in aquatic life then the Underwater Naturalist Specialty course is for you. This course is an introduction to the underwater aquatic environment and will help develop safe and responsible aquatic life interaction techniques.

Prerequisites

  • Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification
  • Minimum age: 10 years old

Course Summary

During your PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course, you'll learn underwater naturalist dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also get an overview of the major aquatic life groupings, interactions and factual information that dispels negative myths. You'll put this information into practice during your two open water dives.

Timeframe: 1 Classroom session + 2 dives in 1 day

Training Fee: $110 Includes C-Card. Fee may be less if combined with the Advanced Course.

Peak Performance Buoyancy

How is your Buoyancy control? A little "iffy"? Then this course has your name on it! The Peak Performance Buoyancy program is the perfect opportunity to hone your buoyancy skills. Perfect your buoyancy and you'll conserve air, energy and our precious environment.

Prerequisites

  • Open Water Diver or Junior certification.

  • Minimum age: 10 years old

Underwater Navigator

When you're underwater, knowing where you are andPadi underwater navigation where you're going comes in handy, especially if you're looking for that beautiful reef that you've heard all about. The Underwater Navigator Specialty course will help you become a pro at finding your way underwater.

Prerequisites

  • Advanced Open Water Diver or Junior Advanced Open Water Diver
  • Minimum age: 10 years old
  • Nav-Finder, manual

Course Summary

During your course, you'll learn underwater navigation dive procedures, techniques, planning, organization and potential problems. You'll also be introduced to natural navigation, underwater patterns, distance estimation and further your compass navigation skills. You'll put these into practice during your three open water dives.

Underwater Digital Photographer

Padi underwater photographyWe can help you learn how to take your fist underwater photographs or fine tune your existing skills to produce photographs that will stun your friends.

  • Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)

  • Minimum age: 10 years old

  • Personal Camera System. May be provided

Course Summary

You'll learn the basics of underwater photography such as composition, film or digital types and camera handling, with special emphasis on practical techniques. You'll learn underwater photography dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also learn how to care for and maintain your camera equipment.

Timeframe: 2 Class/ Pool sessions + 2 open water dives

Training Fee: $145 + ? Camera Rental + ?Boat Fee. Includes C-Card

Boat Diver

Through the Boat Diver SpecialtyPadi boat diver course, you'll learn the techniques and procedures for diving from different types of boats. The more boats you're diving from, the more diving you're doing.

  • Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification

  • Minimum age: 10 years old

Course Summary

You'll learn about:

  • Boat diving planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards

  • Proper boat diving etiquette, including equipment storage and conduct

  • Common boat terminology

  • Specific and local boat diving laws and ordinances

  • Overview of emergency and safety equipment needed on- private dive boats

Timeframe: 2 ocean dive sessions

Training Fee: $75 + related boat charter fee ~$80.  Includes C-Card.

Wreck Diver

Padi wreck diverThe lure of exploring sunken vessels, airplanes and automobiles is something most divers can't resist. The Wreck Diver Specialty course introduces you to wreck diving and helps you develop the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and fun wreck diving.

Prerequisites

  • PADI Adventure Diver or equivalent
  • Minimum age: 15 years old

Course Summary

Information contained in your wreck diver program includes:

  • The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving
  • The preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, penetration lines and reels
  • Limited-visibility diving techniques and emergency procedures

Timeframe: 1 class session & 4 dives over two days

Deep DiverPadi deep diver

The Deep Diver Specialty course offers you the opportunity of a lifetime - going deep to see thing others can only dream about.
 

Prerequisites

  • PADI Adventure Diver or equivalent
  • Minimum age: 15 years old

Course Summary

You'll learn deep dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and hazards. You'll also put this knowledge to the test as you go on four open water dives that range from 18 - 40 metres / 60 - 130 feet.deep diver

Timeframe: 4 dives over two days

Underwater Hunter

Most of us enjoy seafood delicacies, but have alwaysPadi Underwater Hunter had to purchase it at the market or our favorite restaurant. Now that your a diver, you can enjoy hunting and collecting your own dinner, with many a story to go with the meal!

Prerequisites

  • PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)

  • Minimum age: 15 years old

  • Pole Spear or Speargun, game collecting bag/ stringer. Abalone iron, float, bag and gage if applicable to the trip (North Coast only)

Course Summary

  • Learn about different types of game available in California

  • Understand fish and game laws

  • Learn techniques used to catch em and bag em.

  • Be introduced to the wide variety of hunting and collecting equipment and how to maintain them.

Timeframe: 1 classroom +1 day (2 dives) of diving

Equipment Specialist

Whether it's a regulatorPadi dive equipment specialist problem, a wet suit tear or a broken mask strap, the Equipment Specialist course can help. This Specialty course prepares you for the basic equipment care & maintenance you'll encounter every day. You'll also purchase gear with confidence


Prerequisites

  • Any certified Diver

  • Minimum age: 10years

Course Summary

During your PADI Equipment Specialist program, you'll familiarize yourself with the operation and maintenance of your personal equipment. Your instructor might also provide the opportunity to review new or unfamiliar dive equipment.

The program is not an equipment repair program but it does give you:

  • Theory, principles and operation of dive equipment

  • Routine recommended care and maintenance procedures

  • Common problems with equipment and recommended professional maintenance procedures

  • Simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to new equipment

Timeframe: 1 Classroom Session

Training Fee? $60 includes C-Card
